Bad and Good news…

Yes starting with the bad news.  I found a dead Shrew this morning by the pond at Toad Holes Beck.  I photographed it so I could positively ID it.  Research and measurements revealed the Shew to be a Common shrew.  Now the good news, I can now confirm that this common but hard to see mammal is living in our recording area.  This brings the mammal species list for our area to 13.

Further good news came with the arrival of single Blackcaps at Raw Nook Nr and Toad Holes Beck and a single Willow Warbler at the latter site.

A pair of Grey Wagtails at Caldene Fields were at the stream and a good count of at least 6 Dunnocks were noted at Toad Holes Beck.
